BIOGRAPHY
Attorney Stephen A. Katz graduated with distinction from the University of
Wisconsin, after which he did graduate studies at the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology in philosophy on a full fellowship.
He received a J.D. degree from Boston College Law School. After working
for two years for The Research Group in Cambridge, MA, Katz opened his
own law office. He soon built up a thriving asbestos-litigation
practice with offices in Philadelphia, New York City, and Boston.
In the 1990s, Katz moved into other areas, practicing franchise law,
representing small businesses, and handling hearing-loss cases. He takes a
particular interest in legal writing, and helps other attorneys write briefs and
memoranda of law.
On behalf of franchisees who cannot resolve their problems, Katz
litigates against their franchisors; for as a franchise attorney, he
combines a knowledge of franchise law with many years' litigation
experience. Indeed, in his capacity as a small business lawyer and
franchise lawyer, Katz is presently bringing claims against two
franchisors who took their franchisees' money but did not live up to
their promises.
